Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission Injects $100,000 into Bucks County Projects

The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission awarded two grants to Bucks County.

The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) has awarded more than $2 million in Keystone Historic Preservation grants to 37 projects across the Commonwealth, including two in Bucks County, writes Jay Losiewicz for PHMC.

These funds support museums, heritage groups, and local governments in preserving Pennsylvania’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

PHMC awarded the 37 grants from a competitive pool of 114 applications. One grant awarded $91,500 to the County of Bucks, while another granted $10,170 to the Mercer-Fonthill Museum in Doylestown.

“The selected projects beautifully showcase what historic resources Pennsylvanians value,” stated Andrea Lowery, PHMC Executive Director. “This investment ensures that Pennsylvania’s cultural memory will be preserved for future generations.”

Keystone Historic Preservation Grants provide critical funding to identify, preserve, promote, and protect historic and archaeological resources throughout Pennsylvania. These grants benefit the public and contribute significantly to community revitalization.

The Keystone Recreation, Park & Conservation Fund generously funds the grants using annual revenue from a portion of the state realty transfer tax.

PHMC will spotlight these projects as part of its efforts leading up to the 2026 United States Semiquincentennial celebration.
