State Wrestling Champions from Bucks County Visit Pennsylvania Capitol

Wrestling state champions Eren Sement and Chase Williams from Bucks County were invited to Harrisburg by Senator Steve Santarsiero.

Two high school state wrestling champions from Bucks County were recently invited to Harrisburg by State Senator Steve Santarsiero, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

“Both of these young men have demonstrated impressive talent as wrestlers and strong leadership skills, qualities that will serve them well as they continue on in their athletic and academic careers,” stated Senator Santarsiero.

Eren Sement, a senior from Newtown, attends Council Rock North High School and won the PIAA-AAA 145 bracket.

Sement plans to attend the University of Michigan, where he will continue to wrestle. His hope is to train throughout the year in Ann Arbor and eventually join the USA world team.

Chase Williams, a freshman from Buckingham, attends Central Bucks East High School and won the PIAA-AAA 107 bracket. He won 40 matches this season, tying him with the school’s record.

Williams is one of only two state champions in the high school’s history, with the previous win occurring in 1982. He is also the first freshman to win the Southeast Regional Wrestling Tournament in the school’s history.

Senator Santarsiero expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the young men, wishing them the best for their future wrestling careers.
