As ‘Vocal Leader,’ Bensalem’s Charlie Robson Invaluable to Conwell Egan’s Wrestling Program
Conwell Egan Catholic High School senior Charlie Robson provides uncommon leadership for the school’s wrestling program, writes Drew Markol for the Bucks County Courier Times.
“I don’t know who yells more at practice, Charlie or myself,” said Conwell-Egan head wrestling coach Chuckie Connor. “He’s the guy that stays on everybody and makes sure they’re all working to get better in the wrestling room.”
That is why he will be truly missed next season when he leaves for Delaware Valley University, where he will continue wrestling.
“To have a vocal leader like that is just invaluable to a coach,” said Connor.
Thanks to Robson’s leadership, the Eagles won their fourth consecutive Philadelphia Catholic League title. Robson, a Bensalem resident, also won a pair of PIAA Class 2A medals and achieved 116 career wins – and counting.
“I’m so glad that I came to Conwell-Egan,” said Robson. “I have grown so much as a person and a wrestler, and the credit has to go to Chuckie. He’s just an incredible coach and a better person and I’ve just been very fortunate to be around him.”
