If you’re looking to spend a day on the water kayaking, canoeing or river tubing, there are plenty of spots in Bucks County to check out, writes Jess Rohan and Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
There are several lakes and creeks in the county to explore:
- Silver Lake and Magnolia Lake, Bristol
- Lake Towhee, Haycock
- Giving Pond, Upper Black Eddy
- Falls Township Park Lake
- Lake Nockamixon, Upper Bucks County
- Lake Galena at Peace Valley Park, New Britain
- Neshaminy Creek via Tyler State Park, Newtown
- Lake Luxembourg, Middletown
While permits aren’t needed for river tubes, they are required for those using canoes and kayaks in a state forest or park.
Those interested in boating on the Delaware River can find access points in Tinicum, Point Pleasant, Washington Crossing, and more. Some of these locations require specific permits.
Kayaks and canoes are available for rent at several local businesses. Core Creek Boat Rental, Nockamixon Boat Rental, Driftwood Water Adventures, Bucks County River Country and Nature’s Way Canoe & Kayak are popular rental spots.
Bucks County River Country and Twin Rivers Tubing offer river tube rentals.
