Two Bucks County ice cream and candy shops were recently featured in the 2025 USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards, writes Elisabeth Seidel for the Bucks County Courier Times. Public voters and industry professionals collaborated to select the winners.
On the list of the 10Best ice cream shops in the country, Owowcow Creamery came in fifth place. The shop has three locations in the county in Newtown, Chalfont and Ottsville.
Skip’s Candy Corner, founded in Lahaska, landed ninth place on the 10Best candy stores list.
Owowcow Creamery has appeared on USA Today’s list for three years, thanks to its quality products and delicious flavors. The creamery purchases the eggs, cream and milk used to make its delicious ice cream from local farms.
According to USA Today, Owowcow is “one of a handful of ice cream companies in the country that’s licensed by the Department of Agriculture to make its ice cream base from scratch.”
Three generations of workers currently run Skip’s, which began as a shop in Peddler’s Village in the 1990s. The founder, Skip, still works there to this day.
The shop’s assortment of fudge, sour candies and truffles has earned it national recognition.
