Warminster-Based Connell’s Hugs From Heaven Helps Kids Preserve Memories of Lost Loved Ones

Jenna Flynn and her family. After losing a child, Jenna Flynn started Warminster-based nonprofit Connelly’s Hugs From Heaven, which helps children navigate the painful journey of losing a loved one.

The mission of Warminster-based nonprofit Connell’s Hugs From Heaven is to help children navigate through the painful journey of losing a loved one, writes Racquel Williams for KYW Newsradio.

The organization was started by Jenna Flynn, whose son Connell passed away after just 40 minutes of life. Witnessing the connection their daughter Abby built with the baby during his brief time with them made Flynn determined to help other children process and deal with similar loss.

“Our whole mission is to give hugs, and that is an act of kindness or a wish to help kids keep the memory alive of their lost loved one in their hearts,” said Flynn. “So we created this cookie gram program and we are trying to get the cookies to all parts of the country.”

The original program first expanded to include flowers and balloons, and now they plan to add birthday hug boxes with treats and relatable grief resources for kids. Flynn also hopes to co-write Birthday Hugs with her daughter and include it in the box.

To launch the new venture, the nonprofit is hosting a wine tasting fundraiser at Sentient Workspace in Trevose on March 27.
