Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland Remains in Family After Trading Hands for $9M

Erik Travers and Jamie Walters acquired Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland for $9 million, keeping it in the same family since 1986.

Erik Travers and Jamie Walters acquired Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland for $9 million, keeping it in the same family since 1986, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The husband-and-wife duo bought the country club at 80 Jacksonville Road from a DePaul Group entity. Peter DePaul acquired the 400-member club nearly four decades ago. Walters is the granddaughter of the late DePaul.

Walters and Travers have extensive experience both in hospitality and restaurants, which played a major role in their decision to acquire Spring Mill Country Club. Walters, who grew up working at the club, has taken on the role of its director of banquet operations, while Travers serves as general manager.

“My wife and I have been in the hospitality business for years and we decided to purchase [the club] to start our own venture,” said Travers. “Keeping it in the family was sentimental for [my wife] and also for us as well.”

The couple plans to keep the club’s par-72 golf course, which underwent a renovation ten years ago, largely as is. They are considering upgrades to the dining and lounge spaces.
