The borough is celebrating a major milestone in their history.

A Bucks County borough will soon be celebrating a major milestone in their history, and local officials are gearing up for a fun celebration.

The 150th Anniversary Celebration of Ivyland will be celebrated on June 24. A large section of the borough will be closed off to make room for the day’s activities.

“Since last March, the Ivyland Heritage Association and a group of residents and local volunteers have been gathering each month to plan the day-long celebration activities for all our residents and neighboring communities to enjoy,” event organizers said online.

With a big birthday fast approaching, residents of the area are looking to teach people about how they borough has an important role in the early history of this country.

The borough was founded in 1873 by Edwin Lacey, a Quaker that was related to John Lacey, a brigadier general in the American Revolution. Edwin named the area after seeing how much ivy naturally grew there.

The borough is still looking for volunteers to assist in the day’s festivities.
