Trevose-based Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard has introduced a new Skittles flavor and topping just in time for the 2025 summer season, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Skittles Italian ice, made in partnership with the candy’s owner Mars, will be available for a limited time, starting on March 17.
Rita’s described the new product as a “colorful collision of fruity flavors” inspired by “the taste of a handful of Skittles.”
A Skittles flavor of the company’s Pop’d freeze-dried candies will also be joining the brand’s lineup of dessert toppings this summer.
Skittles Italian ice and Skittles Pop’d will be available in time for Rita’s first day of spring annual giveaway on March 20. Customers will be able to get a free six-ounce Italian ice in one of the many available flavors at one of the company’s more than 575 locations worldwide. The brand expects to give away around one million cups of Italian ice.
Rita’s also offers frozen custard, gelati, Blenders, frozen coffees, lemonades, and milkshakes, as well as concretes on a seasonal basis.
