The Borscht Belt Delicatessen in Newtown held a grand opening for its new deli inside the Trenton Farmers Market in Lawrence, New Jersey, on Thursday, Jan. 16, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

Owned by celebrity chef Nick Liberato and Michael Dalewitz, the full-service New York-style deli will be open during market hours.

Several weeks after opening, the Jewish deli will expand its hours for takeout, delivery, along with a full catering menu to a seven-day-a-week schedule.

On the opening day, the deli offered samples, giveaways, and up to 20 percent reduced prices. Liberato, from Paramount Network’s Bar Rescue and Netflix’s Restaurants on the Edge, were also there to meet and greet the patrons.

“Our deli will truly be a fantastic addition to the Trenton Farmers Market and will certainly be a draw for locals and visitors living in and coming to Mercer County,” said Liberato.

Menu highlights in Trenton include various platters with fresh lox, meats, and spreads, daily fresh bagels from New York City’s famous Ess-a-Bagel, Lower East Side pickles, homemade matzo ball and brisket/cabbage soup, and much more.

Additionally, the deli has signed an exclusive arrangement with award-winning Moonraker Roasters from Philadelphia for fresh coffee.
