The Philadelphia region is home to many stellar wineries where you can spend a relaxing day sipping a refreshing glass of wine, including two Bucks County wineries, writes Laura Brzyski for the Philadelphia Magazine.
That’s a bit of luck for local oenophiles, with the two wineries making a list of the 19 best that are definitely worth a day trip.
Crossing Vineyards and Winery in Newtown sits on a 200-year-old estate and offers daily wine tastings. You can enjoy some of the local favorites such as Vidal blanc and merlot, or give a try to more unique wines like Chocolate Cherry Truffle Port.
This Bucks County gem also hosts an array of events throughout the year, including cabaret performances, picnics in the vineyard, and trivia and craft nights.
Buckingham Valley Vineyards in Buckingham is one of the first wineries in Pennsylvania. It officially opened its doors in 1966.
Here, you can enjoy dry, semi-sweet, and sweet reds and whites, as well as some of the more unusual offerings such as green bubbly – ideal for Eagles season – and rotating wine slushies.
