With summer weather in full swing, there is no better time to spend an evening outdoors at local wineries, writes Olivia Stefano and Anne E. Hill for Main Line Today.
Here are four wineries throughout Chester County offering delicious wines and stunning outdoor views.
Stargazer’s Vineyard—Coatesville. Named after the nearby Stargazer’s Stone, the winery offers views of the Brandywine Creek and surrounding sloping hills. Wines of note include the 2023 Solar Celebration chardonnay, which has notes of green apple and citrus, and the 2020 Cabernet Franc.
Paradocx Vineyard—Landenberg. With products made from the on-site vineyard, Paradocx features specialty wines in addition to light bites from flatbreads to sandwiches. One unique offering, the T-Wine, is a white wine blend made with natural black tea.
Wayvine Vineyard & Winery—Kennett Square. With locations in both Nottingham and Kennett Square, Wayvine features wines made from the site’s 12,000 grapevines. Wines include a sparkling reisling and a rosé Carmine, and the vineyard features live music nights throughout the summer.
Va La Vineyards—Avondale. Housed in a vintage barn, Va La Vineyards offers seated tastings Friday through Sunday. Notable wines include La Prima Donna, a unique blend cultivated outside of Philadelphia. The smaller space allows visitors to thoroughly enjoy the specialty offerings from this family-run business.
