Harry S. Truman High School has been recognized as a 2023-24 Project Lead The Way Distinguished School for its STEM curriculum and career readiness, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.
The Bristol Township high school is one of only a few hundred nationwide to receive this national honor for providing students with broad access to transformative learning experiences through PLTW Biomedical Science, Computer Science, and Engineering.
National nonprofit organization PLTW aims to make every student in every grade successful in STEM.
“We have a team of hardworking and dedicated staff who made this award possible,” said Cosmo Di Liegro, Department Chair for Business, Engineering and Technology.
“The distinguished designation has been a long time in the making, but we aren’t stopping there. Our goal is to next achieve the Distinguished District award.”
The PLTW Distinguished School recognition is awarded to schools that are committed to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement within their PLTW programs.
Harry S. Truman High School had to meet several criteria to be eligible for the designation, including the number of PLTW courses available to students and the percentage of students enrolled in PLTW.
