A local field hockey team recently dedicated a game they played to the memory of their beloved coach, who passed away in late 2020. Dino Ciliberti wrote about the game and the coach for the Bensalem Patch.

Bensalem High School’s field hockey team, in collaboration with the school’s athletics department, dedicated their recent home game to Ruth O’Malley the team’s former coach who passed away from COVID-19 in November of 2020.

“In honor of Ruth O’Malley, a mentor, leader, and coach. Her passion and love for her students and fellow peers will forever live on,” the athletics department said.

The ceremony took place on the night of a game between the Bensalem team and Harry Truman High School. The game took place at Bensalem Memorial Stadium.
