At Hellerick’s Family Farm in Doylestown, yoga enthusiasts can experience a unique twist: goat yoga, writes Kalena Thomhave for The Keystone.
This fun and relaxing activity blends traditional yoga with the playful presence of goats. Participants can expect goats to sniff, nuzzle, and even climb on them during the session, creating an amusing and therapeutic environment.
Goat yoga classes are available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from April to October.
Each one-hour session, held in the goat pasture, costs $27 per person, and reservations are recommended. Participants can book individually, with friends, or even for special events like birthday parties.
During the class, expect the goats to climb on your back, nibble on your belongings, and be prepared for the occasional mess since the pasture is their home.
Guests should bring a mat and towel, and be ready to embrace nature, including bugs and dirt. Organic sunscreen and bug repellent are recommended.
Before entering the pasture, guests must wash their hands and complete an online participation waiver, which will be sent via email upon booking.
