Lambertville and New Hope came alive on Saturday with the vibrant New Hope Celebrates Pride Parade, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

The parade route kicked off in New Jersey and ended in Pennsylvania

The parade also featured New York City’s Queer Big Apple Corps Marching Band and DC’s Different Drummers.

The highlight of the event was a 100-foot by 100-foot Rainbow Equality Flag carried through the streets.

Local politicians, including State Senator Steve Santarsiero and State Rep. Tim Brennan, joined the march alongside community leaders from New Hope, Lambertville, and Solebury Township.

Cheerleaders performed human pyramids, and a giant duck mascot entertained onlookers as it crossed the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge

Floats and marching groups from local businesses and organizations added to the festivities.

This year’s PrideFest, themed “Hear Us Roar,” emphasized amplifying LGBTQ+ voices and art.

The parade also featured contributions from New Hope Arts, PFLAG Bucks County, and numerous local churches, libraries, and political groups.
