A new lease will keep Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve in Solebury blossoming, according to the Saucon Source.
Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced a 35-year lease agreement with the 134-acre preserve that will allow it to continue operating and make improvements.
It’s the only accredited museum in the country that is solely dedicated to native plants, featuring over 700 rare, native, and endangered plant species.
The preserve, which is in Washington Crossing Historic Park, includes over five miles of trail, educational programs, a native plant nursery, historic buildings, fishing, tours, and special events.
It was founded in 1934 and has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
The preserve also hosts an array of special events. The upcoming Nature at Night: A Focus on Fireflies with Pam Newitt will run from 7:30 to 9:00 PM on June 28.
The event aims to take a deeper look into complicated creatures and how they communicate.
Tickets are $12 with a $9.60 member discount.
