Bensalem native Andrew Linder is running from coast to coast by running to fundraise for victims of human trafficking.

Bensalem native Andrew Linder is running from coast to coast by running to fundraise for victims of human trafficking, writes Madeleine Wright for CBS News Philadelphia.

Linder is running from Santa Monica Pier, California to Central Park, New York City, wearing a 15-pound weighted vest.

The initiative, named Pier to Park, began on March 1 and is set to conclude on May 18.

Linder aims to be the first person to complete this grueling 3,000-mile route under such conditions.

Throughout his run, Linder has already raised $81,000 for Sisters Rising Worldwide, a charity aiding victims of exploitation, with a goal to reach $250,000.

His efforts have already earned him high praise from the charity’s CEO, Irene O’Neill.

Linder’s mission resonates deeply with survivors of human trafficking, including Philadelphia native Ann Marie Jones, who endured years of being trafficked.

Jones, now an author of a book detailing her experiences, sees Linder’s effort as a crucial step in increasing public awareness and support for victims.
