How Bristol Borough Group Transformed a Historic Town into a Thriving Attraction

By

Community group “Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar” has revitalized the historic riverside town into a thriving tourist hub, writes Alex Irving for Levittown Now.

Over the last decade, this collaborative effort between the group, borough government, businesses, and residents has enhanced dining, entertainment, and historical sites.

Bill Pezza, president of the group, highlighted recent improvements along Market Street, including the restoration of the Bristol Masonic Lodge and enhancements at the Bristol Riverside Theater.

Efforts have extended to the Bristol Fire Company building and the Bristol Friends Meetinghouse.

The newly opened Riverport Plaza @ Market now graces the area with a mural that narrates the port’s history and offers a venue for live music.

The installation of the Bristol Stomp Mural and new heritage trail markers further celebrate the town’s rich history.

According to Visit Bucks County, nearly 8 million visitors in 2022 generated substantial economic activity.
