The Bristol Township Planning Commission is endorsing a new townhome development in the Croydon section of the township.

The Bristol Township Planning Commission recommended both preliminary and final development approval for a new townhome development in the Croydon section of the township to the council, which will vote on the project at an upcoming meeting, writes Alex Irving for Levittown Now.

The project proposed by developer JRZ LLC of Croydon includes two three-unit townhomes, for a total of six residential units. The proposed location is in the 600 blocks of Coventry Avenue and Second Avenue.

The project moved forward after the Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board approved several variances in April.

The project includes a resident parking lot and an underground stormwater basin and is expected to enhance the overall appearance of the area.

The developer wants to demolish two homes that are currently on the site. Meanwhile, the existing businesses will continue to operate.

The planning commission gave its recommendation to approve waivers on curbing, grading, easement widths, parking, and handicap parking location. However, discussions regarding road improvements are still ongoing between the developer and the township engineer.

Following the December recommendation by the planning commission, the development project now includes a stipulation to adhere to the township’s recommendations regarding obtaining land development and subdivision approval.
