A plan to install solar panels at the planned Lower Bucks Government Services Center in Bristol has been approved.

In efforts to make Bucks County greener, a plan to install solar panels at the planned Lower Bucks Government Services Center in Bristol has been approved, writes Greg Vellner for The Reporter.

Blue Bell-based firm Schiller and Hersh Associates will be designing the panels in a nearly $30,000 contract. The facility, which is poised to serve 13 county departments, will sell back the electricity to PECO.

The solar panel system is being considered for installation on a section of land where redevelopment options are restricted due to its previous industrial activities.

Repurposing the site for the solar panels could enable the county to qualify for federal rebates.
