As pickleball spikes in popularity, Lower Makefield Township has unveiled a membership program for its newly established pickleball club, writes Damon C. Williams for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Aimed at catering to the uptick in demand for the sport, this program facilitates court reservations and scheduling for enthusiasts looking forward to the spring and summer seasons.

This move, effective from March 3, 2024, marks a transition from the township’s current MeetUp group, offering members a suite of enhanced benefits.

These include streamlined scheduling via the new Court Reserve App, comprehensive support from dedicated staff, and exclusive discounts on lessons and pickleball events, with more details to be announced as spring approaches.

The club’s membership registration is now open, including seasonal or annual memberships.

This development is part of a wider trend in Bucks County, where pickleball’s popularity has led to the expansion of facilities, including Middletown’s recent addition of eight new lit courts at Firefighters’ Park.
