Doylestown Township’s Planning Commission has given preliminary approval to two significant building projects: a new mental health crisis center and an expansion for an existing animal hospital and doggie daycare, writes Ed Doyle for TAPintoDoylestown.

The mental health crisis center, to be located at the edge of the Doylestown Hospital campus, is a collaborative effort involving several health and mental health organizations.

It will focus on treating behavioral health challenges including mental illness, drug and alcohol dependency, and intellectual disabilities.

Meanwhile, the Doylestown Veterinary Hospital and Holiday House Pet Resort, situated at 380 North Shady Retreat Road, plans to expand both their medical office and daycare facilities.

Both projects have now moved forward to the township’s Board of Supervisors for further review, marking a step towards significant community development in Doylestown
