Domestic violence education and victim services provider, A Woman’s Place, has a new lease on life, writes Jo Ciavaglia for the Bucks County Courier Times.
After reviewing a proposal submitted by the provider, the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence confirmed that preserving A Woman’s Place would be the “best option.”
Thanks to a new contract, the Doylestown-based service will continue to be funded through June 30. The new contract is slated to start on July 1 extending to 2026.
In October, A Woman’s Place was notified by the PCADV that it intended to end AWP’s contract along with $720,000 in attached funding by the end of 2023.
A Woman’s Place has been providing domestic violence services for almost 50 years and served over 2,000 clients last year.
