On Christmas Day, get the chance to witness a reenactment of George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River at Washington Crossing.

On December 10 and Christmas Day, you will get the chance to witness a reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night crossing of the Delaware River that saved the Revolution.

Each year, thousands of people make their way to the banks of Delaware River to watch several hundred reenactors dressed as Continental military listen to an inspiring speech by the nation’s first president and then make their way across the river in replica Durham boats.

The event on December 10 will start at 11 AM and end at 3 PM. The crossing will happen at 1 PM. In addition to the reenactment, there will be other special colonial-era activities and demonstrations available in the Historic Village.

The Christmas Day Crossing will take place from noon to 3 PM on December 25, with the actual crossing taking place at 1 PM.

The cost of the first event is $9 for adults, $5 for children between 5 and 11, and free for children younger than 5. The Christmas Day event is free for everybody.

The events will be narrated by Jason Q. Bohm, a Marine with over 30 years of service.
