The historic Bucks County home was once used as a headquarters for then-General George Washington.

The Moland House of Warwick Township, once a headquarters for then-General George Washington, will host its annual Revolutionary War Reenactment on Aug 27.

The historic home was once owned by John Moland, a successful lawyer who worked in the Bucks County and Philadelphia areas. During the Revolutionary War, George Washington used the home as his headquarters for a few days in August of 1777. His stay in the Hartsville home preceded the Battle of Brandywine.

“Along with the 1st Crossing Regiment we will have various interpreters of the period when General Washington and 11,000 troops encamped on the Neshamini Creek in the summer of 1777,” organizers of the event said on the house’s official website.

Attendees will also be able to engage in fun acts from the Penn’s Woods Puppet Theater, colonial cooking, working with a lacemaker, a colonial gunsmith, woodworkers and a colonial brewer.

Tickets for adults cost $5. For senior citizens, tickets are $4. Children cost $2, and families cost $10 per group. All proceeds will go on to benefit The Moland House.

For more information on the upcoming event, check out the house’s official website.
