Doylestown Township is slated to vote on a proposed 60-unit mixed-use development for seniors and U.S. military veterans on 280 N. Broad Street, writes Kevin Riordan for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Developer Arcadia Land Co. is proposing that three acres be used for the $30 million project, which includes 18 townhouses for all ages, three apartments set aside for working seniors, and a 60-unit senior building.

Every tenant in the senior building must be 62 years or older and make a maximum of $47,000, three workforce units will be reserved for seniors but not have income requirements.

To begin construction, the developer must go through a series of steps culminating in getting final approval from the township board.  Doylestown Borough Council President Jack O’Brien cited concerns among residents including traffic, but a revised proposal calls for the entrance to be built further away from the Atkinson Road intersection.

The revision also calls for the demolition of the Tilley fire equipment building and a dog park.
