Tower Health will sell two of its urgent care centers in Montgomery County to American Family Care, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The two centers are part of the eight total in the region that will be sold. The financial terms of the deal to sell the locations, which include Lansdale and Conshohocken are expected to close by September 30.

Five centers in the region will also close by the same date, leaving only nine urgent care centers still operated by Tower Health open in the region.

The healthcare system says that employees at the centers closing will be offered positions by American Family Care.

Currently, there are 30 AFC urgent care centers in the Philadelphia region. Tower Health currently owns multiple hospitals, including Pottstown Memorial Hospital. For the Fiscal Year of 2023, Tower Health has reported an operating loss of $149.1 million.

“Our commitment to providing exceptional health care remains unwavering, said the health system in a statement.

“We will continue to operate nine Urgent Care facilities within our primary market service area ensuring that our patients receive the care they need.”
