Archbishop Wood High School's basketball prodigy, Jalil Bethea, has been making waves in the national high school basketball scene.

The University of Miami received a major recruiting boost when Warminster native Jalil Bethea, a five-star shooting guard, committed to the program, writes Tobias Bass for The Athletic.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Bethea is among the top ten prospects in the 2024 class (No. 9). He opted to commit to Miami over Villanova and Kansas after making official visits to all of his top choices.

Bethea is now the highest-ranked recruit in the Hurricanes’ history.

Bethea is a 6-foot-4, 170-pound prospect from Archbishop Wood. He is arguably the best shoot-making prospect nationwide at this moment. He has an unlimited range and is capable of consistently making shots via catch-and-shoot, off-the-dribble, or off-ball actions.

During the summer, he took full advantage of the opportunity provided by the Nike Academy to showcase his skills and efficient numbers to NBA scouts.

During the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, the talented player averaged 18.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. He shot 50 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three, as well as 90 percent from the charity stripe.
