Doylestown Charity Organization is Raising Awareness for ‘Malnutrition Awareness Week’

"Did you know malnutrition in older adults is higher than any other age group in the US?" the organization wrote online.

Meals on Wheels of Central Bucks County is working to help local residents understand the signs and dangers of malnutrition.

The organization, headquartered at 700 Shady Retreat Road in Doylestown, is sharing information with the public as a part of “Malnutrition Awareness Week.” Working with the community for decades, the organization acknowledges malnutrition as a serious public health issue.

“Did you know malnutrition in older adults is higher than any other age group in the US?” the organization wrote online.

“By understanding the signs and spreading awareness, you can help save lives in your home, family and community.”

Since it began in 1972, Meals on Wheels of Central Bucks County has been delivering fresh, nutritious meals to homebound people. As of 2023, the organization has delivered over 1.3 million meals throughout the Central Bucks community.

“Our meals are prepared fresh each day by a commercial catering service and a local grocery store delivered to the Meals on Wheels facility located within the Central Bucks Senior Center in Doylestown.”
