Bucks County Transport to Cut Ribbon on New DART South Route Later This Month

Bucks County Transport will launch its new DART South Route on Aug. 24 with a ribbon cutting at the Shops at Valley Square in Warrington, writes Jeff Werner for the Doylestown Patch.

BCT officials will be joined by legislators and county and township officials for the 11 AM unveiling of the new, fixed-route bus service that will run along Route 611 and Street Road in Warrington.

The event will be open to the public. Free refreshments will be served courtesy of several local restaurants and businesses, such as Ardana, Grand Rodeo, Great Barn Brewery, PF Changs, The Fusion Bar, Walmart, Wawa, and Wegmans.

The new route will operate Monday through Friday starting from 8:30 AM and ending at 5 PM This will offer a connection for riders who use the Doylestown DART and DART West routes. Each ride will cost $1. Seniors 65 and older will ride for free.

“DART South will allow Warrington residents easier access to businesses and communities along Route 611 and Street Road, as well as reduce traffic congestion by having fewer cars on the road,” said BCT officials.
