This is the third sighting in local suburbs this month.

After several sightings of black bears in the Bucks County area this month, another one has been seen wandering local suburbs.

A third black bear has been seen walking through Bucks County neighborhoods, this time in Doylestown.

“On Thursday at 9:00 PM there has been a bear spotted by several residents in the area of Edison-Furlong Road near Woodcrest Lane,” the Doylestown Township Police Department said on their CrimeWatch page. “The game commission has been advised.”

Just a few days ago, the Trevose Fire Company reported a black bear being seen in the Feasterville area. It is currently unclear if that bear and the Doylestown bear are the same one.

Earlier this month, several residents in and around the area of Upper Makefield Township called in sightings of a young black bear wandering around local suburbs.

In response to the various sightings, the Pennsylvania Game Commission recently shared a list of facts and information regarding the black bear, which is native to the area. With the exception of mother bears with their cubs nearby, black bears are not known to be aggressive and typically avoid contact with humans.
