Officials from a township in Bucks County are looking for community feedback related to a historic farm property in the area. Staff writers at Le Lézard wrote about the upcoming forum.

The Ad-hoc Property Committee, a volunteer group in Lower Makefield Township, will be hosting a public forum to discuss the future of Patterson Farm on June 26 from 7 – 9 PM at the Lower Makefield Community Center, located at 1550 Oxford Valley Road in Yardley. Members of the public are invited to attend and share their thoughts on upcoming plans for the property.

“Our goal is to keep Patterson Farm as a beloved agricultural, historical, and natural open space for the Lower Makefield community to enjoy for years to come,” said Dennis Steadman of the Ad-hoc Property Committee.

Patterson Farm was settled by Quakers in 1683, originally owned by farmer Thomas Janney, who grew several crops on the property. In 1998, the township paid $7.2 million to purchase the land as open space from Tom and Alice Patterson.

Back in February, the township voted to have Seiler + Drury create a Master Plan to guide the Community regarding decisions on use, repairs, restorations, and investments of the property.
