The Pennsylvania Office of Outdoor Recreation recently published a report that broadly details its mission and priorities.

With its quaint towns and scenic landscapes, Bucks County is the perfect place for anyone who is looking for an outdoor adventure this year. Emily Scalzo wrote about the area for Visit Bucks County.

Those who enjoy hiking can visit one of the county’s six state parks and seven county parks, which offer an abundance of day hiking options. Some of the more popular options include Ralph Stover State Park with the well-known High Rocks Trail, Tyler State Park, and Silver Lake Nature Center.

For biking, there is the Delaware Canal State Park towpath. This totals 59 miles in length and is relatively flat and free of vehicular traffic. There are also guided bike tours offered by Encore Rides.

Many of the parks in the county also have lakes and streams that are ideal for kayaking and paddling, such as Tyler State Park.

For those not afraid of heights, TreeTrails in Trevose has a wonderful tree-top ropes course where you get to navigate 53 different elements including bridges, swings, and zip lines.

Finally, if you are in the mood for something even more adventurous, Valley to Summit offers guided, outdoor rock climbing.
