Students at a high school in Bucks County recently participated in a fun and immersive research project to learn important forensic practices.

Students of Sharon Hartranft’s Forensic Science class at Archbishop Wood Catholic High School in Warminster researched blood splatter patterns in the manner of real crime scene investigators. Using pieces of paper with splattered “blood”, students observed the way in reacted with surfaces in an attempt to figure out a related crime.

“They later created a “splatter gallery” in the hallway and walked around taking notes to learn more about the different blood spatter patterns from their other classmates’ work,” the high school said online.

The interactive activity gave students an idea into what goes into this very specific and messy research project used by investigators on a regular basis. Utilizing scientific research, the student were able to learn more about the world of crime research and forensic analysis.
