The Bucks County politician will return to take part in the discussion.

A politician from Bucks County will be taking on a major position in the Pennsylvania government as she is accepted into her new role. Staff reporters from WHYY wrote about the local politician.

Michelle Henry, a former Bucks County prosecutor, has been unanimously approved by the Pennsylvania Senate to fill the attorney general position for the last two years of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s elected four-year term.

Prior to being nominated by Shapiro to fill one of the top two public safety positions, Henry was Shapiro’s top deputy at the attorney general’s office. She worked closely with Shapiro for all six years in which the governor served as attorney general. Henry told a state Senate committee that she will not run for the office in two years when the voters will select a new attorney general.

During her time as an assistant district attorney in Bucks County, Henry was in charge of some of the highest-profile crimes in the county which included murder cases.

The 54-year-old became the lead prosecutor in Montgomery County in 2016 when then-Attorney General Kathleen Kane was successfully tried on charges of leaking protected investigative information as well as lying about it under oath.
