The player's family are die-hard fans of his team, even though they are in the heart of Eagles territory.

A Bucks County business owner and his family are cheering for their football-star grandson, even as he goes against the Eagles this weekend. Reporters for NBC10 Philadelphia wrote about the player and his family.

Despite being surrounded by Philadelphia Eagles country, the owner of a hardware store in Croydon will be supporting the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game due to a family connection.

Bill McGlinchey, who owns B & B True Value Hardware, is the grandfather of 28-year-old 49ers’ offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey.

McGlinchey played for Penn Charter High School before joining Notre Dame. However before he was drafted by the San Francisco team, he grew up as a fan of Andy Reid and the Eagles.

“Michel is the pride of the family,” said his uncle, Tim McGlinchey, “and Croydon here has adopted him as a son.”

The player’s dad is the oldest of five children and his mother has five siblings herself, so there will be a pretty big cheering section for the 49ers on Sunday. Whatever the result, the grandfather has a message for his eldest grandson.

“Well, if the NFL doesn’t work out, he can always come back here and we’ll pay him the same amount of money as the 49ers are paying him,” joked Bill.
