Central Bucks High School East’s football team is mourning the recent loss of a former player who battled cancer over the last few years. Drew Markol wrote b about the player and the team for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Connor Boyle, a former member of the high school’s football team and a recent graduate, passed away on Aug. 19 after battling cancer. When he was diagnosed back in the fall of 2019, he did not stop playing for the team, determined to not let the illness affect his spirits.

“Knowing Connor, and we go all the way back to Pop Warner football at Lenape when we were in first or second grade, he would have wanted us to practice,” said Ethan Shine, a senior running back/linebacker. “That’s just the way he was. It was always about the team for him. Whatever we could do to get better, that’s what he wanted to do.”

The football team plans on honoring Boyle this upcoming season by placing a memorial decal on each one of their helmets.
