The farm is one of 32 properties being protected.

A Bucks County farm is one of several Pennsylvania farm properties that will be protected through government funding. Staff writers for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture wrote about the local farm at BCTV.org.

The Matthew P. Goldenberg and Kelly Burland Farm, located in Bedminster Township, is a 106-acre crop and livestock farm. This farm’s property will be some of the 2,478 acres on 30 farms in Pennsylvania that will be protected from future residential and/or commercial development.

What is protecting this and other farms in the state? $8.9 million in state, county, local and nonprofit dollars raised by state officials. Bucks County received $1,498,140 in total funds through the intuitive.

“Protecting prime farmland from development is one of the most important investments we make in our economy, our environment, and our quality of life,” Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding said.

“These farm families, together with every level of government, are investing in guarding their legacies and ensuring that other Pennsylvania families will have food, green spaces, income and jobs in the future.”
