Cyclists Take to the Streets of Doylestown for Major Bike Race

The bike race will be held in one of the area's most popular towns.

Over 100 cyclists recently made their way to a popular Bucks County town to ride for a good cause that will help local families in need. Ed Doyle wrote about the recent ride in TAPintoDoylestown.

This past weekend, the large group of cyclist roads around the area for an event called “Cranksgiving”, where they go to different grocery stories to stock up on Thanksgiving essentials that will be given out a local food pantries. Bob Tennett, a Doylestown native, went on a scavenger hunt with his team to find particular food items.

“They gave us a sheet with a list of what we need to get in the supermarket,” he said.

Following the cyclists was a truck on loan, which was used to store the food until it was donated. After the event, it was all dispersed for those in need.

“Cranksgiving has been instrumental in the sense that it’s raised awareness within Doylestown,” said Erik Clare, the Executive Director of the Bucks County Housing Group.
