In an effort to help combat breast cancer in the Bucks County area, two local field hockey teams worked together to raise funds for a major nonprofit.

The field hockey teams of Central Bucks High School East and Central Bucks High School West recently sold t-shirts to raise $1,000 for local breast cancer patients. The proceeds went to Pine2Pink, a Doylestown-based nonprofit known for collaborating with Bucks County businesses, townships, and boroughs to decorate the area pink for Breast Cancer Awareness every year.

“Now we can use this donation to keep the programs we have set in motion viable and funded!” the organization said on social media. “Programs like home food delivery, out-of-pocket expenses (where we pay bills, rent, mortgage, child care, etc), treatment transportation, free integrative services, comfort bags at diagnosis and cold capping (used to reduce hair loss during chemo).”

The teams’ joint effort to raise funds is just one example of the massive support the organization has in Bucks County. Every year, dozens of individuals and organizations donate money to the nonprofit, who uses the money to help survivors and those currently dealing with breast cancer.

“A BIG thank you to CB East and CB West Field Hockey for supporting Pine2Pink! You’ve done an amazing job!”
