Unclaimed Bucks County Veterans to Be Honored in Ceremony this Week

An upcoming ceremony in Bucks County will honor a select few veterans who never received a proper funeral after their ultimate sacrifice. Jeff Werner wrote about the event for the Newtown, PA Patch.

An n Unattended Veterans Service is set to be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, located at 830 Highland Road in Newtown, on Oct. 27 at 2 PM. The event will honor four veterans who were unclaimed after the battles they fought in.

Those fallen heroes are:

  • Albert Reamy, U.S. Navy (Rank: SA) (World War II Era), from Bristol Township
  • Lee Schantz, U.S. Army (Rank: PV2) (Persian Gulf War Era), from Springfield Township
  • Richard Wilburn, U.S. Marine (Rank: PVT), from Quakertown Borough
  • Stephen Williams, U.S. Air Force (Rank: AMN) (Vietnam War Era), from Bristol Township

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck saids that the four Bucks County veterans will be interred with full military honors.
