The grants will help to restore the local watershed.

A watershed restoration project will soon take place in Bristol Township, with several politicians securing state grants for the endeavor. Staff writers at the Lower Bucks Times wrote about the much-needed project.

State Senator Steve Santarsiero and State Representative Tina Davis recently secured $225,000 in state grants for the project, which will improve the existing swales along Mill Creek near Plumbridge Drive. The project will help to combat erosion of the existing swales and retain the structure around the creek.

“With this funding, the township has the opportunity to implement stormwater projects in an effort to reduce sediment in our waterways,” Bristol Township Manager Randee Elton said. “The focus area is along the wooded section of Mill Creek adjacent to the Plumbridge Drive.”

This project is just one of many that is helping to save the natural landscape of the township.

“This state grant award will help implement the Plumbridge BMP Vegetated Bioswales project in Bristol Township whose goal is to reduce runoff and ensure that it is cleaner and better for the environment,” said State Representative Tina Davis.
