Longtime Washington Crossing resident Greg Grace died on July 2 at age 65 after a heroic 17-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease, but his legacy will live on for generations, writes Wayne Fish for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Grace is a past president of the Bucks County Roadrunners Club. He forged many friendships and relationships in that role and helped many people discover their love for running.

“He loved to run and he thought everybody ― if they want to run ― should be encouraged,’’ said his wife, Emily. “No matter whether they were really fast runners or whether they were just beginners. He just felt it was something everyone should be able to do.’’

Grace completed over 30 marathons. Once he fell in the first few yards and proceeded to complete the race with a fractured wrist. Still, much of his time was spent encouraging others to be their best.

“He brought so many people into the club that way; some people who were never runners before,” said his wife. “He was the one who kind of pulled them into it.’’
