The event will give residents the chance to fish with friends and family.

A park in Bucks County will be hosting an event in the near future, teaching local residents the basics of a popular outdoor pastime.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will be holding an “Introduction to Fly Fishing “class at Nockamixon State Park on May 20. The ins and outs of the outdoor sport will be covered for those looking for a new hobby and a great way to enjoy the area’s outdoors.

“Fly fishing can be a fun way to fish for the first time or it can present a new experience for seasoned anglers,” park officials said online.

“Anyone, ages 12 years and older with an interest in learning the basics of fly fishing equipment, knot tying, casting techniques and on the water skills is welcome. It is the perfect opportunity to learn fly fishing basics and meet other fly anglers. All equipment is provided. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.”

Registration for the event is required.
