Pa. Governor Tom Wolf has announced an investment of $70 million for 317 projects statewide, including support for the revitalization of six Bucks County public sites. The funding is intended to revive communities, create new recreational opportunities, and conserve natural spaces.

“Our outdoor places are among the things that tie us all together — a place to meet for our health, for enjoyment, for recreation and a draw for tourists,” Gov. Wolf said. “Many of the projects being funded — improvements to local parks, trails, and river access — bring these amenities closer to home, requiring less driving and expense to experience at a time during the pandemic when these opportunities are recognized as critical to our well-being.”

The grants fall under the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Community Conservation Partnerships Program. The finances come from the Keystone Fund, generated from a portion of the realty transfer tax, the Environmental Stewardship Fund, fees for ATV/snowmobile licenses, and federal monies.

The capital is being directed to the following Bucks County revitalization projects:

  • $29,000 to update the 1972 inventory of Honey Hollow Watershed, Solebury Township
  • $170,000 for a conservation easement on 55 acres in Richland Township for open space
  • $90,000 toward a conservation easement on 23 acres in Richland Township for open space
  • $90,900 for site improvements to Molasses Creek Park, Milford Township
  • $350,000 for site improvements to the Bradford Dam Trail, Warrington Township
  • $50,000 for rehabilitation of Warwick Community Park, Warwick Township
