Robert A. Haley, the longtime former co-owner and president of Finnaren & Haley, a Conshohocken paint company, died on December 23 at his home in Newtown Square aged 94, writes Gary Miles for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Haley took control of the company with his brother, Daniel J. Haley Jr., in 1958, after the death of their father, who cofounded Finnaren & Haley. The brothers grew the business from its initial five retail stores to 35 across three states. They attained full ownership of the company in the seventies.

However, most of Finnaren & Haley was acquired by Benjamin Moore & Co. in 2007.

Robert Haley, who grew up in Wynnewood, was married to Pat Carville for 68 years until she died in 2019. They raised four daughters and one son.

Outside work, he served as chairman of the board of trustees of what was St. Mary’s Hospital – now St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne — and St. Joseph’s Prep.

He also worked for the nonprofit Catholic Charities Appeal and was recognized with the Charles E. Barton Ignatian Service Award for his “outstanding dedication” to St. Joseph’s Prep.
