Doylestown Hospital has been ranked eighth in Pennsylvania and 142nd in the U.S. as part of Newsweek’s 2021 list of World’s Best Hospitals.

“Doylestown Health is dedicated to continuous improvement in quality care and patient safety,” said President and CEO Jim Brexler. “Achieving regional and national rankings is not our goal, but we humbly accept this prestigious recognition of our amazing health system’s team.”

The award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., an international statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list can currently be viewed on the Newsweek website

Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three data sources were used for the evaluation:

  1. Hospital recommendations from peers: an international online survey that included more than 74,000 doctors, hospital managers and healthcare professionals
  2. Patient experience: surveys measuring patient satisfaction with hospitals
  3. Medical KPIs: patient safety, hygiene measures and quality of treatment

Doylestown Hospital improved its ranking from last year, when it was ranked 10th in Pennsylvania and 173rd in the U.S.
