Pennsylvania might be best known for its two largest cities, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, but the Keystone State is also home to a mix of charming small towns and cities that boast burgeoning cultures and unique styles, writes Michael C. Upton for the TravelMag.

One of these is New Hope, which recently made the list of the top ten most charming towns and small cities in the state.

Set on the Delaware River, New Hope offers eclectic shopping and riverside restaurants where the menus are as enticing as the views.

Visitors can find some truly unique items here, from premise-made chocolates and re-funked furniture to “magickal” crystals and fine art.

The dining options include the Logan Inn that opened in 1727, making it one of the oldest continually operating inns in the country. A recent expansion added accommodation to this historic gem and revitalized the main floor.

For those who enjoy walking, there are plenty of trails available at the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. For an interesting perspective of the Delaware River, visitors can walk to New Jersey and back by crossing the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge.
