Philadelphia Union
Philadelphia Union is a professional soccer club competing in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference. Founded in 2008, it began play in 2010 and is based in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The club’s name and crest honor America’s colonial history, featuring a rattlesnake inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s “Join, or Die” cartoon. Philadelphia Union has achieved notable success, including winning the Supporters’ Shield in 2020 and finishing as runners-up in the 2022 MLS Cup final.
The team is owned by Keystone Sports & Entertainment, with Jay Sugarman as the majority owner and Kevin Durant as a minority investor. Bradley Carnell serves as the head coach, and the club plays its home matches at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.
